Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock

How many of you are always wanting more time? You say "There is not enough time in a day." You spend your days planning everything. Trying to check off everything on your to-do list. When it comes to the end of the day, you start planning everything for tommorrow.

I am reading The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom. He is an amazing author and if you have not read his books I highly encourage you look into them. In this book, Mitch talks about Father Time. He talks about how we often wish for more and more time. We are always complaining about how we aren't able to get anything done because there is not enough time in a day.

We are given 24 hours everyday. That seems like a lot of time to me. Time to get everything done. Ask yourself how you spend your 24  hours. Maybe 8 hours at work and school, 2 hours doing homework, an hour to make dinner, an hour watching TV,  8 hours of sleep and I could go on and on. How much of your 24 hours do you dedicate to God? Time spent in prayer, praising Him, and sharing His Word? Maybe this is a reality check for you.

Matthew 24:36 says "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

We do not know when Jesus is to come back. Therefore we need to live everyday to the fullest. When it comes down to 24 hours vs. eternity which one will you chose to focuss on how to live your daily life? I hope you live everyday like it is your last and you live it for Our Savior.

Today take some time out of the 24 hour day and look at how you spend your 24 hours. I pray that you spend your time wisely. If you see you don't then change it. We don't know when we will take our last breath or when Jesus is to come again. When your day is focussed on Christ your 24 hours will be spent the way He wants them spent.

Fear of Fear

How many of you have something you are afraid of? Different people are afraid of different things. It could be anything from clowns to heights to the dark. I could go on and on listing things that people could be afraid of. There is one thing that many of us are afraid of and you might not have thought about it. How many of you have a fear of fear? Whoa wait. You might ask yourself how is that possible to have a fear of fear? Well it is.

Many of us live our life in fear. You are often scared of everything not going as planned. You are scared to know what that outcome will be if you hit a road block and take a detour. You are scared to try new things. You are scared to go out of your comfort zone. You would rather just stick to the normal.

If this sounds like you ask yourself this "What is the worst that could possibly happen?" Isaiah 41:13 says "For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." Well if that does not give you a sense of relief, I do not know what could! Isn't that just amazing that the Almighty God is holding "your right hand." God is ALWAYS by your side. God is telling us not to fear because He has it all under control.

I think the root of having the fear of fear is a lack of trust. If we would trust our God, I think the fear of fear and any fear would cease to exist.  If we trust that our Father has it under control and know it is all apart of His plan we will be able to breath and live a happier life. I mean God does tell us "do not fear" so why aren't we listening to Him? Just something to think about.

If you are one to experience a fear of fear or a fear of anything, I ask you to give that up to God. He will help you. I promise. He is by your side. This week I challenge you to wake up and say "God I want you to take the wheel today" Give Him all the control. If you do, I promise that fear will go away and you will be able to take a deep breath in.
